Job Description
Johnson Murphy Construction is seeking a skilled Construction Project Manager to lead our project team to success! As a pivotal part of our operations, you will oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of construction projects. Ensuring high standards are met to build customer loyalty and trust. Projects are to be completed on time and within budget. Your expertise will drive both strategic and day-to-day operations, making a lasting impact on our customers and the agriculture community.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion.
- Review the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs.
- Prepare construction budgets for projects.
- Prepare drawings and specifications for projects.
- Coordinate and supervise construction workers and subcontractors.
- Select tools, materials and equipment and track inventory.
- Meet contractual conditions of performance.
- Ensure work is performed in accordance with codes, standards, and laws.
- Review the work progress on daily basis.
- Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues.
- Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status.
- Planning ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones.
- Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts and obtain permits and licenses.
- Review and approve sub-contractor pay application
- Prepare and submit payment requests to project owner
- Maintain financial records for each job with cost control and labor recaps.
- Analyze, manage, and mitigate risks.
Requirements
- Proven working experience in construction management or a similar role.
- Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means, and methods.
- Understanding all facets of the construction process.
- Familiarity with construction management software packages.
- Ability to plan and see the “big picture.”
- Competent in conflict and crisis management.
- Excellent time and project management skills.
- BSc/BA in Engineering, Building Science, Construction Management, or relevant field.
- Ability to lead a team with clear, concise, and effective communication both written and verbal.
