What are the responsibilities and job description for the Public Accounting Specialist position at Johnson, Perry, Roussel & Cuthbert, LLP?
We are looking for a well-rounded candidate that can deliver timely, quality service to our clients. The ideal candidate will be a licensed CPA with a minimum of 3 years recent public accounting experience. The accountant responsibilities will include:
- Prepare individual, corporate, trust, estate, and partnership multi-state, federal, and non-profit tax returns of varying complexities
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual Sales and Use Tax Returns
- Process payroll monthly payroll deposits, quarterly and annual payroll tax returns for business clients
- Review and process monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement compilations
- Monthly client write-up
- Audit fieldwork
- Demonstrate competency with technical skill and work quality
- Provide excellent client service and quick turnaround
- Proficient in MS Office, QuickBooks, Lacerte, Prosystems Engagement, and Thompson Reuters Checkpoint a plus
- Perform compilations, reviews, and audits
- Preparation of financial statements
- Other client services or assistance as necessary
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Accounting from 4 year accredited school
- CPA preferred, but not required
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a public accounting firm, having worked with corporate returns and financial statement compilations
- Excellent analytical skills
- Ability to make decisions about complex accounting and tax matters
