Summary
The Director, in collaboration with the College President, oversees and manages the JCC Foundation's operations. Education Preferred: An advanced degree is preferred, ideally in marketing, business, public relations, or communications
Experience Minimum: Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in fundraising and development, preferably within a community college or non-profit environment. Demonstrated ongoing growth through education and active involvement in professional fundraising organizations. Familiarity with Johnston County is preferred.Language Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in Microsoft Office, photo editing and graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, and social media management tools.

The Director also supports the Foundation Board and works to enhance the College's and the Foundation's visibility within the community.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. - Reporting to the College President (or designee) and working in collaboration with the Foundation Board, the Director assists in the design, development, and execution of a comprehensive development strategy for the College’s Foundation to support the college mission and goals, which includes seeking grants and endowments from individual donors, and private foundations.
- Develops an annual fundraising plan to support the college’s strategic plan and program improvement objectives, focusing primarily on student scholarships and other student-focused supports.
- Connects with businesses, industry partners, and corporate, foundation and government entities.
- Oversees the Foundation’s scholarship and grant programs, and ensures that those further the Foundation and college mission and strategic goals.
- Coordinate all alumni relations, cultivation and fundraising activities and develop alumni programming to include life-long learning opportunities, seminars and special events.
- Monitors all donor information; provide and present statistical and narrative reports; work collaboratively with the College’s finance department to prepare budget and financial reports to the Foundation Board and college leadership.
- Oversees database management; donor development, relationships, and acknowledgement; and communication, maintaining confidentially as required.
- Supports the Foundation Board and designated Board committee operations; develops agendas, related documentation and minutes for meetings.
- Participates in meetings, committees, taskforces and/or other related groups to communicate information regarding the Foundation and its initiatives both on and off campus.
- Oversees selection and ensure the fairness of scholarship selection and awarding.
- Supervises professionals, paraprofessionals, technical/support and/or classified staff.
- Trains, supports, and disciplines staff as necessary.
- Ability to form trusting relationships and work collaboratively with faculty, administrators, volunteers, alumni and colleagues.
- Demonstrated success in major individual gift fundraising, with a deep understanding of cultivating and soliciting prospects, objectives, focusing primarily on student scholarships and other student-focused supports.
- Knowledge of successful fundraising and comprehensive capital campaigns.
