LOCATION : Facility Services

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT : 12 Months

JOB Description : Performs a variety of general carpentry, maintenance, and repair work on the building and school grounds in order to enhance the instructional environment.

QUALIFICATIONS : High School graduate or equivalent with experience in maintenance, new construction, and / or the use of hand and power tools preferred. Ability to consistently follow directions.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Performs general carpentry in the construction, repair or alteration of roofs, stairways, partitions, doors, windows, and screens.
• Selects, cuts and trims lumber to size, and other appropriate work according to oral or written specifications.
• Operates, adjusts, and maintains power tools and equipment.
• Replaces glass in doors and windows.
• Builds and repairs doors, tables, chairs, and desks.
• Repairs blinds; installs and / or removes white boards and cork boards.
• Assists in changing fluorescent light tubes.
• Performs heavy tasks for considerable periods of time.
• Works Independently and / or as part of a team.
• Demonstrates a commitment to continuous improvement; supports and exhibits organizational core values of caring, respect, integrity, dependability, responsibility, being customer driven, and valuing diversity.
• Performs other duties and accepts responsibilities as assigned.
