Johnstone Supply is looking for a tech-savvy IT Support individual to join our IT department. This individual will serve as the first point of contact for all things IT, helping us stay efficient and productive. A problem solver with excellent communication abilities and an understanding of network, hardware, and software fundamentals.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The responsibilities of IT Support include, but are not limited to:
Technical Assistance
- Respond to IT support requests via phone, email, or in person
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical hardware and software issues on desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices
- Assist users with setup, installation and configuration of computer equipment and peripherals
Software and System Support
- Provide support for commonly used software, including operating systems(Windows, macOS) and business applications
- Assist with setting up and maintaining user accounts, permissions and access rights
- Troubleshoot issues related to email, network drives and VPN access
Network and Connectivity
- Support network connectivity issues, including wired and wireless networks
- Troubleshoot and resolve VPN, firewall, and remote access issues
- Assist with the setup and configuration of the network hardware as needed
Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain documentation for common troubleshooting steps, frequently asked questions, and knowledge-base articles
- Record and update all support requests in a ticketing system and ensure timely follow-up and completion
- Provide reports on support ticket trends and suggest improvements
Hardware Maintenance and Asset Management
- Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware
- Maintain an inventory of IT assets and manage hardware lifecycles (procurement, allocation, and decommissioning)
- Support users with setting up and troubleshooting conference room AV equipment as neede

Required:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science or a related field/equivalent experience
- Minimum 1-3 years IT experience
- Proficiency in Windows, macOS, and Microsoft Suite
- Basic networking knowledge
Preferred:
- Experience with help desk ticketing system
- Certifications CompTIA A, Microsoft certified IT professional
- Familiarity with remote support tools and techniques
- Knowledge of Eclipse
