Position Overview
The JOIN Housing Retention Coordinator supervises the daily work of the team as it relates to established service delivery requirements and supports individual workers to manage their caseloads and complete required documentation. They represent the team at system meetings and, with their manager, develop and track team processes, performance, and procedures.
Compensation
Salary: $64,000 - $67,800 DOE

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Be a leader in JOIN’s equity and anti-racist work at all levels of engagement and apply an equity lens to all work with staff, service participants, agency leaders and their staff, vendors, volunteers, donors, and community partners.
- Lead the team’s day-to-day work and implementation of the program model in support of contract compliance and outcomes for program participants.
- Complete regular one-on-one supervision with team members to monitor performance, support professional development, and support worker retention and wellbeing.
- Case staff with teams to navigate resources and identify appropriate responses.
- Work extremely closely with the Outreach Coordinator to streamline referrals and manage cases.
- Complete ongoing monitoring and approval of team administrative requirements.
- In collaboration with team members and program manager, implement processes, protocols, training and professional development, and organization strategies that support program and individual worker success.
- Lead worker performance evaluation with support from the program manager.
- Monitor team performance through review and reporting of housing retention and expenditure data.
- Elevate any performance concerns to the program manager; co-develop performance improvement plans and support ongoing monitoring.
- Participate in hiring processes for the team, working with the program manager and HR; work collaboratively with the manager to onboard new staff.
- Consistently monitor, balance, and assign housing placement referrals to worker caseloads.
- Support workers in challenging case management situations, and lead coverage planning and implementation when workers have an emergency/planned absence or leave.
- Track budget and client assistance dollars by funding source and ensure team’s appropriate use and completion of documentation requirements.
- Work with the program manager to review periodic client assistance spend-down reports as provided by the data team
- Support JOIN’s fundraising efforts by working closely with the development team in support of team and agency campaigns and grant reporting.
- Other duties as required and assigned.
Required Skills, Specialized Trainings, and Experience
- Demonstrated a commitment to equity and inclusion, supporting JOIN’s goal of becoming an anti-racist organization.
- Demonstrated ability to support and nurture a diverse and inclusive environment where all people feel welcome
- Two plus years professional or personal experience in homeless services or related fields.
- Experience with formal and/or informal staff supervision and support required.
- Skilled at leading/facilitating group work where there is a strong commitment to worker autonomy and individual responsibility.
- Demonstrated ability to think creatively about service delivery at the systems and individual level and implement effective practices that are responsive to shifting conditions.
- Experience working collaboratively with a diverse array of system participants, including families experiencing homelessness, housing placement workers, agency managers/directors, and funders.
- Experience working with financial and program outcome data, and ability to use data to inform ongoing service delivery and system design.
- Demonstrated commitment to ensuring equitable access to services for community members who are Black/African-American, Indigenous, LGBTQIA2S , and/or from other communities of color, and are over-represented in Portland’s houseless population.
- Demonstrated ability to work with relative autonomy and limited oversight, to maintain the necessary level of organization, and to communicate effectively to a diverse array of system participants in writing, one-on-one, and in a group setting.
Preferred Skills, Specialized Trainings, and Experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of housing resources and fair housing and/or landlord-tenant protections.
- Ability to lift and move items, including furniture, weighing 50 lbs
- Familiarity with Multnomah County's service systems is a plus.
