HOUSING RETENTION COORDINATOR (Adult System RLRA)

Description

The Housing Retention Coordinator is responsible for providing SEI case management and stabilization support for adults with a current Regional Long-Term Rent Assistance (RLRA) Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) Voucher.  This position will carry a caseload of up to 15 adults with referrals coming through the Joint Office of Homeless Services Adult System of Care. This position will seek to empower people to maintain permanent independent housing through developing ongoing Goal Action Plans that addresses; home stability, family well-being, education, financial health, and employment.  This position reports to the SEI Housing Program Manager. Self Enhancement Community and Family Programs is located at 2205 Ne Columbia Blvd Portland, OR 97211. 

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Provide Assertive Engagement Case Management utilizing SEI service delivery best practices for a caseload of PSH voucher holders. 

• Assist clients with housing retention, well-being, financial literacy, educational and employment supports, and access to other community programs and supports. 

• Work with Housing Coordinator to transition, and develop, ongoing client centered Goal Action Plans to overcome barriers with the goal of assisting participants to improve in each of the five pillars of Self Sufficiency (Housing/Home Stability, Well Being, Education & Training, Financial Management, Employment & Earnings). 

• Identify, build and maintain effective relationships with Resident Services Coordinators, landlords, property managers and an effective and comprehensive network of community resources to promote housing stability and advocacy when needed.  

• Advocate and negotiate with government agencies, and other community partners on behalf of clients. 

• Complete all required documentation including Intake and eligibility documents, and maintain participant files, in compliance with the Housing Program Policy Manual. 

• Administer assistance as needed, in compliance with SEI Finance Department regulations and procedures. 

• Demonstrate the SEI Fundamental Beliefs and SEI Standards in all service delivery. 

• Develop quality relationships across the Department and throughout the agency to ensure knowledge and awareness of all SEI programming. 

• Participate in providing community education and resource programming for community enrichment. 

• Performs other related duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

• One year case management experience in Social Services or a related field. 

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Services or in a related field preferred. 

• Must share the SEI Fundamental Beliefs about working with children and families. 

• Must be able to demonstrate the qualities of; Strategic, Driven, and Self-Aware. 

• Experience working with diverse populations. 

• Must have effective interpersonal and problem-solving skills with the ability to interact with people of varying social, economic and education levels. 

• Must have the ability to successfully motivate and connect with others. 

• Must be highly organized and self motivated with effective time management skills. 

• Ability to understand and follow complex written and oral instructions, rules and procedures; to work independently and to be a vital and contributing part of a team. 

• Excellent writing skills to include proper grammar, case note writing/formatting, proofreading and editing. 

• Advanced computer skills to include the entire Microsoft Office Suite. 

• Must have a valid Oregon driver's license and be insurable under SEI’s auto coverage.
