Irrigation of greenhouses and gardens including weekends.2. Transplanting and propagating of collections and crops.3. Plant sales, customer relations, money handling.4. Maintenance : weeding, cleaning, installations, mulching, deliveries.5. Record keeping of crops, deliveries, chemical applications.6. Perform related duties as assigned.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS1. GPA of 2.0 or above2. Must be enrolled at JJC in at least 6 credit hours3. Completing a Horticulture Degree4. Willingness to work flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays5. Good oral / written communication, organization and time management skills6. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with other members of the college and community, displaying cultural competence as well as emotional intelligence.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS1. - Duties are performed in greenhouses with possible wet floors, high or low temperatures, and high humidity. Duties are performed in the Formal Gardens or Land Lab with plants, water, high or low temperatures, possible insects and irritants.Scheduled Weekly Hours : This is a student employee position that works around your class schedule. May work up to 20 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters. During summer and holiday breaks (Winter / Spring), may work up to 28 hours per week with supervisor approval.Full Time / Part Time : Part timeUnion (If Applicable) : Scheduled Hours : 20
