Ice Arena Supervisor
FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt, Full Time
Salary Range: $20/hr DOQ

Summary
Under the general direction and supervision of the Inwood Ice Arena Superintendent, the Inwood Ice Arena Supervisor is responsible for planning, coordinating, implementing and evaluating the operation and the overall upkeep of the Inwood Ice Arena.
Essential Duties

- Maintain ice for superior skating quality including Zamboni operations and edging.
- Detect and report failures in equipment or mechanical systems.
- Keep operational log of ice mechanical system and other required equipment not limited to the Zamboni.
- Establish facility cleaning schedule and coordinate with part time facility attendants.
- Detect and schedule building repairs and ensure facility safety.
- Maintain adequate amount of supplies for cleaning and maintenance.
- Ensure that facility is set up as per the daily schedule and plan for future events.
- Maintain ice in the most cost effective way, not limited to ice thickness.
- Assist with training and supervising Ice Arena Facility Attendants
- Any other duties as assigned.
Hours
Must be able to work weekends, nights and holidays. May be asked to work days when the Ice Arena Superintendent is not scheduled.

Work Environment
The position is primarily indoors and on the ice rink. When working in the Ice Arena, the environment is always cold.

Must be able to work long hours, at many times standing. Ability to lift 50 pounds and lift, carry, push, or pull equipment and supplies weighing up to 75 pounds occasionally. Frequently lifting and carrying objects up to 50 pounds. Must be able to perform moderately to heavy physically intensive tasks, potentially including any combination of the following: climbing, balancing, stooping, sitting, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, repetitive motions, substantial movements (motions) of wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
Education and Experience
- High school graduate with experience in facility, custodial and/or maintenance operations.
- Knowledge of, or the ability to understand, ice rink mechanical system and knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems preferred.
Additional Eligibility Requirements
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Current CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire date
