Summary
The Inwood Ice Arena (one-sheet facility) is seeking a part-time Zamboni Driver/Ice Arena Facility Attendant. Under the general supervision of the Ice Arena Superintendent, the Ice Arena Facility Attendant is responsible for ensuring a safe, enjoyable atmosphere for all recreational activities for patrons at the facility by supervising the ice rink and lobby. Responsible for resurfacing/cutting ice, janitorial duties, and overseeing all mechanical and power supply areas associated with keeping the ice-skating rink operating in a proper, safe, and efficient manner.
Essential Duties

- Supervises Inwood Ice Arena facility and operations.
- Ability to exercise responsible, professional judgment in decision-making.
- Resurface ice in a safe, timely manner in accordance with Office Tracker scheduling.
- Responsible for following opening/closing security procedures.
- Handle customer service tasks in a positive, friendly manner.
- Ensure room rentals are set up and taken down in a timely fashion.
- Detect and report failures in mechanical systems.
- Maintain an operational log of Ice mechanical systems and other required equipment, not limited to the Zamboni.
- All maintenance of the Zamboni, Ice Arena glass, dasher boards and the Ice Arena itself.
- Perform cleaning tasks of all flooring and glass inside Ice Arena building.
- Any other duties as assigned by the Ice Arena Superintendent, which may include, but are not limited to: snow shoveling, salting grounds, maintaining clean grounds near and around facility.
Hours
This position requires days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

None
Work environment
The position is primarily indoors and on the ice rink. When working in the Ice Arena, the environment is always cold.

Must be able to work long hours, at many times standing. Ability to lift 100 pounds and lift, carry, push, or pull equipment and supplies weighing up to 75 pounds occasionally. Frequently lifting and carrying objects up to 50 pounds. Must be able to perform moderately to heavy physically intensive tasks, potentially including any combination of the following: climbing, balancing, stooping, sitting, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, repetitive motions, substantial movements (motions) of wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Ability to operate Park District vehicles and equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
Additional eligibility requirements
Must be at least 18 years of age.
A valid US driver’s license.
At least 1 year experience with Ice Arena maintenance and Zamboni Ice Resurfaces preferred
Working knowledge of ice arena operations preferred
Thorough knowledge of facility management and maintenance repair/upkeep of ice making equipment preferred
