Job Title: Manufacturing Production Planner
Job Overview:
The Manufacturing Production Planner is responsible for developing, coordinating, and managing production schedules and ensuring that manufacturing processes run efficiently. This role involves balancing production requirements with material availability, labor resources, and plant capacities, while also ensuring that customer delivery deadlines and cost targets are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Production Scheduling: Develop and manage detailed production schedules based on customer orders, inventory levels, and available resources.
- Materials Management: Coordinate with procurement and inventory teams to ensure the timely delivery of raw materials and components needed for production.
- Capacity Planning: Analyze production capacity and resource availability, making adjustments to schedules and workflows to avoid bottlenecks and ensure on-time delivery.
- Demand Forecasting: Work closely with sales and marketing teams to understand customer demand and forecast future production needs.
- Monitor Production: Track progress and troubleshoot any issues that arise during production, ensuring any delays or disruptions are addressed quickly.
- Process Optimization: Continuously review and improve production processes to maximize efficiency, reduce waste, and lower costs.
- Data Reporting and Analysis: Maintain accurate production data, including production output, inventory levels, lead times, and resource utilization. Analyze this data to improve planning accuracy.
- Collaboration: Liaise with departments such as engineering, quality control, and logistics to ensure the production process is running smoothly and that any issues are quickly resolved.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure all production activities comply with safety regulations, quality standards, and company policies.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to optimize production efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 2-5 years of experience in production planning or manufacturing operations. Experience in a similar industry may be required.
- Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of production planning software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and lean manufacturing principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other office software.
