We are seeking a highly organized and customer-oriented individual to join our dental practice as a Part Time (4 hours a day) Dental Front Desk Receptionist. The Dental Front Desk Receptionist will serve as the first point of contact for our patients, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a smooth and efficient operation of the front desk. This position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
The ideal candidate MUST :
- have previous experience in a dental or medical office setting
- have experience in using Open Dental software
- possess a friendly and professional demeanor
Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome patients and visitors in a warm and friendly manner.
- Register new patients and update existing patient information in the practice management software.
- Schedule and confirm appointments, ensuring proper allocation of resources and efficient use of time.
- Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and provide accurate information to patients regarding appointments, procedures, and general dental information.
- Manage patient records, including filing, organizing, and updating electronic and paper documentation.
- Verify and process insurance information, including collecting co-pays and providing patients with financial estimates.
- Coordinate with dental hygienists and assistants to ensure smooth patient flow and timely completion of procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized reception area, including stocking and ordering office supplies as needed.
- Handle billing and collection processes, including generating invoices, processing payments, and coordinating with insurance providers for claims.
- Assist with patient recall and follow-up activities to ensure ongoing patient care and satisfaction.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
- Handle patient complaints or concerns with empathy and professionalism, escalating issues to the appropriate staff when necessary.
- Collaborate with the dental team to optimize patient satisfaction and overall office efficiency.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in dental or medical administration is preferred.
- Proven experience as a receptionist or front desk representative, preferably in a dental or medical setting.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proficient computer skills, including experience with practice management software (Open Dental) and MS Office applications.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and insurance billing processes.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
- Exceptional customer service skills and a friendly, welcoming demeanor.
