Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Legal Assistant or Paralegal to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting our attorneys by managing various administrative tasks, conducting legal research, maintaining calendar and appointments, and ensuring compliance with legal procedures. This position is essential for maintaining the efficiency of our law office and providing excellent service to our clients.
Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys with legal case management, including organizing files and maintaining case documentation.
- Conduct legal research to support ongoing cases, focusing on real estate and business transactional law.
- Draft, review, and transcribe legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, and correspondence.
- Perform data entry tasks accurately to ensure all information is up-to-date in the case management system.
- Maintain a well-organized filing system for both physical and electronic documents.
- Communicate effectively with clients, witnesses, and other parties involved in legal matters.
- Schedule appointments, meetings, and court dates as required by attorneys.
- Support attorneys in preparing for trials and hearings by gathering necessary materials.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Legal Assistant or paralegal or in a similar role within a law office is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of legal terminology and procedures, particularly in real estate and other transactional law.
- Familiarity with litigation, pleadings and court rules is a plus.
- Excellent data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proficient in using Clio legal case management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
