About the Position
As an IT Intern, you will employ your communication skills and technical knowledge to provide internal clients with the technology support needed to ensure their productivity. This position is also designed to provide meaningful experience and expertise to help the intern further their career in the technology field.

Organizational Relationships:
· Accountable to the IT Manager and/or IT Support Specialist
· Effectively communicate and coordinate with IT Manager, IT Department Team Members, and the entire organization
Primary Responsibilities:
In your role as IT Intern, you will be part of our growing team by performing the functions and duties listed below:
IT Support
· Maintain, troubleshoot, and upgrade all computer hardware and software including servers, CAD workstations, personal computers and tablets, plotters, and printers as well as A/V, the phone system, and mobile phones
· Maintain local network and equipment including switches, routers, and firewalls
· Provide support, setup, and maintenance of hardware including desktop and laptop computers, office phones, and mobile devices for team members including installation of necessary programs and access to network drives and enterprise systems.
· Support day to day needs of JDE users and demonstrate consistent responsiveness to issues in-person and by phone/chat/email, providing timely updates and resolution, and ensuring critical information is captured and documented
· Follow helpdesk priorities and follow standard operating procedures, adhering to the escalation process established and updating the knowledge base when resolved
· Follow-up on all calls and e‐mails to confirm completion
· As directed by the IT Manager and/or the IT Support Specialist, implement servers, routers, switches, etc. at the JDE office locations for JDE user needs
· Deploy CAD software updates and upgrades
· Assist in website coordination and maintenance as needed
· Communicate effectively with other IT team members to ensure overlap is minimized
· Maintain knowledge of system’s capacity and operating features
· Provide technology training, orientation, and best practices to JDE users.
· Setup and maintain user accounts and access in Active Directory and across the software JDE employees use.
· Communicate system and technical concerns to IT Manager and/or the IT Support Specialist
· Assist team members with solving technical differences between systems
· Attend Department and other meetings as necessary
· Nurture internal client relationships with a personalized, rural touch and humble and consistent communication, and by always doing the right thing
· Serve as a catalyst for communication, collaboration, and team building across the firm
· Enforce and support our standards for consistent and superior client management and professional service delivery, as well as technical excellence
· Communicate regularly with and proactively advise IT Manager of any significant challenge that occurs
Other
· Participate in Department, Office, and alma mater recruitment efforts
· Participate in the plan for civic and community leadership and overall engagement in the community for the IT Department
· Maintain and expand professional capabilities through membership and other involvement in industry associations and professional organizations, pursuing appropriate continuing education, certifications, and writing and speaking opportunities, coordinating with the Human Resources Coordinator
· Practice mindful awareness of your activities and surroundings, and follow all company, OSHA, federal, state, and local health and safety guidelines and requirements
Performs other related duties as assigned by the IT Manager.
Experience & Certifications Required:
· High-school diploma or equivalent
· Interest in IT and technology related fields with a willingness to learn
· Proven track record of responsiveness and effective communication

Additional Preferences
Proficiency in other project management delivery process tools
· Knowledgeable in IP Networking, drive mapping, permissions assignments, VOIP, Microsoft Active Directory user creation, and Microsoft Office 365 management
· Experience troubleshooting and replacing failed computing hardware on both desktop PC's and laptop computers (motherboards, NIC's, video cards, laptop monitors, laptop keyboards, etc.)
· 1 years of experience in IT and/or support desk.
Physical Requirements
The team member must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally move up to 50 pounds.
Working Conditions
Typically, in an office environment with regular visits to other offices and occasional visits to client and/or project sites.
