Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role as an Architect at Jones Development in Kansas City, MO. The Architect provides architectural and design support to the Executive Vice President (EVP), Development by applying design expertise and critical thinking skills to the industrial development process. Primarily, the architect will be responsible for management of multiple architectural projects at various stages to ensure the timely and profitable completion of each development. Day-to-day tasks include creating architectural plans, managing projects, and ensuring seamless integration of software systems.
Responsibilities
- Assist in site analysis, CCR review, code compliance, site and project layout and design of potential development projects and/or land acquisitions
- Manage and/or aid with the architectural design of developments ensuring projects comply with both Jones' and tenants' standards in the capacity as the primary architect or in conjunction with other licensed architects as a secondary position
- Draft and approve drawings, as allowed by licensing, for permitting as well as gather pertinent information to comply with local building, zoning, fire protection and jurisdictional code requirements
- Facilitate collaboration between architectural and other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated design solutions
- Design, review and coordinate construction drawings
- Produce and navigate 3D conceptual renderings proficiently to be utilized for planning and zoning purposes, design review and presentation purposes
- Collaborate with project management team to review construction submittals, change orders and assist project management team with construction administration
- Review project specifications and provide alternative recommendations to project management team regarding budgets and associated construction costs
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science; Architecture
- Minimal three (3) years of architecture experience and AIA licensed
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and yet, collectively with management team
- Proficiency in AutoCad, Adobe Photoshop, REVIT, Sketchup, 3D Studio or similar design software
- Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook)
