Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled GIS Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Geographic Information Systems and be proficient in data collection, analysis, and visualization. This role is essential for supporting various projects by providing accurate spatial data and insights. The GIS Technician will collaborate with cross-functional teams to build and maintain databases, develop APIs, and ensure the integrity of geospatial data.
Duties
· Collect, analyze, and interpret geographic data using advanced GIS software.
· Develop and implement data visualization techniques to present findings effectively.
· Build and maintain relational databases to store spatial information.
· Utilize SQL for querying databases and managing geospatial data.
· Model data structures to optimize performance and usability.
· Collaborate with team members to integrate GPS technology into projects.
· Write scripts in Python to automate tasks and enhance data processing workflows.
· Ensure the accuracy and reliability of all collected data through rigorous quality control measures.
Requirements
· Proficiency in GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) with a strong understanding of spatial analysis techniques.
· Experience with SQL for database management and querying.
· Familiarity with relational databases and data modeling concepts.
· Knowledge of GPS technology and its application in geospatial projects.
· Strong skills in Python programming for automation and data manipulation.
· Excellent data visualization skills to effectively communicate complex information.
· Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
· Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
· Previous experience in a similar role or relevant educational background is required.
· Experience with ArcGIS Online and publishing maps and layers online would be preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
