OVERVIEW OF POSITION :

Oversee and monitor the operation and make adjustments of co-gen, refrigeration, emergency backup systems and boiler systems; monitors operation, adjusts, and maintains refrigeration, chilled water; turbines, boilers, pumps, valves, piping and filters; other mechanical ; record readings and make adjustments where necessary to assure proper operation of equipment. Requires the ability to analyze the operation of various systems, determine the cause of any problems / malfunctions and take corrective action as required. Required to work day and / or night shifts as required.

Essential Functions :

• Monitors operation and maintains co-gen, refrigeration, water cooling and boilers; pumps, valves, piping and filters; other mechanical and electrical equipment; recording readings as necessary to assure proper operation of equipment; responsible for reporting any problems / malfunctions.
• Perform preventive maintenance on all base building and critical system equipment which includes but not limited to : assembling all tools, supplies and instruments necessary to complete the job, performing work with a minimum amount disruption, conducting immediate cleanup of work area, completing the preventive task sheet, reporting any impending supply or material shortages to the Chief Engineer of any equipment problems.
• Assist other mechanics and operators with major repairs and maintenance of building and equipment.
• Keep logs, document equipment repairs, close work orders, track time accurately in reports and provide timely and constant communications with the Chief Engineer.
• Must be capable of identifying, utilizing and operating tools and equipment associated with craft discipline
• Must demonstrate the ability to comprehend and recognize all job-related work permits and complete Job Hazard Analysis
• Must be able to perform work wearing personnel protective equipment. Including but not limited to the following : rain gear, chemical protective clothing, supplied air and air purifying respirators, safety harness, sand blast hoods, flame retardant coveralls, flash suit with gloves and hood, hard hat, ear plugs, and safety glasses
• Should be able to estimate costs and order materials
• Must be able to work in high places (not afraid of heights) and work in confined spaces
• Must be able to work off lifts and scaffolds and understand elevated work standards
• Comply with policies for the safe storage, usage and disposal of hazardous materials
• Maintain compliance to State, County, or City Ordinances, Codes, or Laws
• Document work performance and materials procurement, as directed
• Any and all other duties assigned

Estimated total compensation for this position :

30.00 - 33.00 USD per year

The total compensation range is an estimate and not guaranteed. An employment offer is based on an applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity and alignment with market data .
