Jones Networking is recruiting for Underwriters to join a Residential Mortgage Lending Firm in Reston, VA. Mortgage Underwriter Position Summary:
-Underwrite loans according to company, investor, and agency policies and procedures.
-Review and evaluate information on documents to determine if buyer, property, and co-ownership conditions meet applicable investor guidelines.
-Check files for all requirements prior to returning them to processing.
-Conditionally approves or recommends rejection of applications, or requests additional information.
-Recommends rejections, specifying investor and institution guidelines and basis for recommending decline of application, such as insufficient cash reserves.
-Assists sales staff with underwriting questions and inquiries.
Qualifications Summary:
-Minimum three years of residential underwriting experience for a mortgage company required.
-College Degree is a plus.
-Strong mathematical and judgment skills.
-Highly detail-oriented, organized, and able to meet deadlines.
-Comply with industry-related regulations, requirements, and state/federal laws.
-Proficiency in MS Office applications.
-Ability to achieve and exceed expectations and goals with minimal oversight.
