What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Bands position at Jonesboro High School?
Jonesboro Public Schools is accepting applications for the position of Director of Bands for the 2025-2026 school year. All rehearsals are on a block schedule and are team-taught with the entire band staff. Duties include leading all high school (10th-12th) marching band rehearsals/performances, teaching the top auditioned wind ensemble, assisting Jr. High (8th-9th) band with rehearsals/performances, and teaching a homogeneous beginning band class (7th). Additional duties include leading and mentoring all band staff, providing curriculum support and vertical alignment, budgeting, purchasing, fundraising, working with the Athletic Directors, coordinating with the booster organization, and communicating with parents and other community stakeholders. The Jonesboro Band Department is looking for a team player who will be an advocate for our Jonesboro Band students and overall band program. This position will work under the Executive Principal and Superintendents.
