What are the responsibilities and job description for the Finish Line Stacker/Feeder 1st Shift position at Jonti-Craft, Inc.?
The Finish Line Stacker and Feeder performs all tasks relating to the finishing line of Jonti-Craft. This position will also sand parts as necessary.
Essential Functions
- Identifies any blemishes or imperfections in parts and repairs or sends back for re-work.
- Reads and understand our ECOs and enters them.
- Perform emergency stop
- Changes out sanding sheets when necessary.
- Understands and inputs the necessary basic programs required for operation.
- Cleans the area and machine upon completion of shift or periodically if necessary.
- Presence in the workplace is an essential function of this job.
Additional Functions
- Recognizes scrap and works with QA to resolve any issues.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Basic mechanical aptitude.
- Must be able to speak, read, and write the English language for safety purposes in an understandable manner.
- May be required to work with or train new employees.
- Manufacturing experience preferred.
- Ability to understand dispatch.
Working conditions
Our production environment is typical for wood manufacturing and includes a variety of environmental elements including loud noise, dust, and aromas. While this is an indoor operation, temperatures will vary with the outdoor temperature and some areas of the shop may be hot or cold. Strong odors from finishing chemicals are present. Individual may be subject to vibration. Individual is subject to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles and/or heat.
Physical requirements
Production positions are physically demanding and may be strenuous. They are standing positions and include frequent walking, lifting, and carrying up to 50 pounds. There are a lot of body movements, including extending arms, grasping with hands, and flexing of wrists. There may be a lot of bending and twisting. Each position requires ongoing rotations of movements and workers must have the physicality to perform the essential functions. Ability to lift 50 lbs. and push or pull up to 150 lbs. Ability to stand for long periods of time.
