Joon Loloi is seeking a Payroll/Accounting Associate to support the finance and HR team in all aspects of payroll and benefits for the company. The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of full-cycle payroll processing experience, experience working with employees on human resource issues, provide excellent customer service, have great organizational skills, a good sense of urgency, and more. This position is based at our Dallas,TX headquarters onsite 5 days a week.
Responsibilities will include:
- Manage weekly disbursement of payroll, including garnishments, benefits, and taxes to employees consistent with federal and state wage and hour laws
- Assist HR in onboarding new hires by scheduling and reviewing all drug screens, and background checks, and assisting with the preparation of new hire paperwork within internal systems
- Assist HR in processing new hires, transfers, promotions, and terminations accurately and in a timely manner
- Ensure payroll, time clock, and benefits systems are set up and updated to reflect our current employee base, including wages, benefits, and PTO.
- Assist HR with the unemployment process, which may include responding to claims, appeals, and coordinating participation in hearings.
- Assist with completing VOE’s
- Assist employees with FMLA paperwork, reasonable accommodation requests, benefits and payroll questions, and/or any other employee questions as needed
- Manage regular preparation of relevant management reports, including weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports (gross payroll, hours worked, vacation accrual, tax deductions, benefit deductions, etc.)
- Assist in other special and/or month-end projects as assigned by management
- Review all medical, dental, and supplemental insurance bills each month to ensure accuracy, then approve bills and process payment ensuring the correct expense amount is applied to each department
- Complete payroll reports and distribute them accordingly (tax deposits, 941 quarterly filings, W-2s, and other year-end reports)
- Coordinate and conduct open enrollment for benefits each year
- Process invoices and cut checks to pay vendors according to the terms after proper authorization
- Protect the organization's value by keeping information confidential
- Assist in other duties assigned by the Accounting Manager
Requirements
- Minimum 3-5 years of payroll processing experience is required
- Previous experience fielding and responding to HR/Benefits questions is preferred
- General knowledge of benefits (e.g., medical, life insurance, COBRA).
- Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel)
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently as well as be a team player, while maintaining a high level of confidentiality
