The School Psychologist / School Psychological Examiner is responsible for assuring that the evaluation of students, including ensuring the development of the diagnostic summary, complies with all regulations. The employees are also responsible for sharing their expertise with staff as they develop and implement programs for students with disabilities.

Implement the district's identification and assessment proceduresAttend all meetings and staffings as mandated by the district's local compliance plan, and perform duties in connection with such meetings as may be requestedGuide and counsel diagnostic teams through the development of eligibility and placement decisionsComplete all testing and report writing in compliance with regulation, including timeframesCounsel small groups and individual students with problemsConsult with teachers, staff, and parents regarding meeting the developmental needs of studentsRefer students to appropriate community resources in consultation with their parentsParticipate in, coordinate, or conduct activities which contribute to the effective operation of the schoolEvaluate and revise the district's process of evaluation, in accordance with district needs and directions, and changes in regulationDesign, prepare for and implement a variety of effective techniques in order to successfully meet the educational, emotional, and social needs of studentsDemonstrate competent knowledge of tests, testing, and administration procedures, scoring, and interpretation of data and use this knowledge to effectively meet the needs of studentsUse instructional, planning, and professional development time effectivelyMotivate studentsSupport the development of plans designed to manage student behavior and enhance student success in a variety of settingsImplement a process, as necessary, that maximizes the effectiveness of paraprofessionals and other support personnelCollaborate and communicate effectively with students, parents, staff, and other community persons who might support the child and the familyMaintain confidentiality and other professional obligationsAssume extra duties as assigned by the principalAttend all meetings and conferences as directed by supervisors and perform duties in connection with such meetings as may be requestedDemonstrate initiative and enthusiasm toward workFollow district policies and procedures of the school districtImplement the regulations governing the education of students with disabilitiesDemonstrate a sense of professional responsibilityCarry out all other responsibilities and duties as assignedPhysical Demands
