Job Summary:
As a Project Manager, you are the key point of contact on the job site, ensuring smooth coordination between subcontractors, suppliers, and in-house teams. You will be responsible for overseeing daily site activities, maintaining a safe and efficient work environment, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship, and keeping projects on schedule. This role requires a proactive leader who can anticipate challenges, problem-solve on the go, and maintain strong communication across all levels of the project.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Visit multiple job sites daily to monitor construction progress, safety, and quality.
- Manage and maintain the project schedule, ensuring subcontractors have clear expectations and necessary resources.
- Serve as the primary liaison between subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams, facilitating smooth communication.
- Ensure all work meets company standards, project specifications, and local building codes.
- Identify and resolve construction conflicts efficiently to keep projects moving forward.
- Review and understand all project documents, including blueprints, specifications, change orders, and addendums.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure high-quality installations and adherence to job site standards.
- Oversee project management of change activities, ensuring proper documentation and execution.
- Ensure completion of all required documentation, including permits, inspections, and closeout materials.
- Promote and enforce a culture of safety on every job site.
- Participate in safety meetings, training sessions, and field safety audits.
- Lead by example, fostering a positive and professional work environment.
- Coordinate final inspections, punch list completion, and turnover processes.
- Ensure a seamless handoff to homeowners, delivering a high-quality finished product.
- Developing and maintaining good working relationships with a variety of people, including owners, sales, designers, project managers, vendors, etc.
- Projecting a positive image of the company to employees, customers, and community.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Highly organized with strong scheduling and time management skills.
- Ability to remain calm and adaptable in a fast-paced environment with unexpected challenges.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate effectively between teams.
- Proficiency with construction management software and digital tools is a plus.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Construction Science, Construction Management a plus.
- 2-4 years of construction experience, preferably in residential homebuilding.
- Excellent understanding of home construction and ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Extensive and diversified background with at least 5 years of job related experience required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods, climb, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds.
