Joseph’s House & Shelter, Inc., is an award winning homeless services organization that has been in operation since 1983. We are actively seeking an Advocate/Case Manager dealing with single adults at our Kendal House location. This person should be self-motivated, able to work within a team, have strong listening skills, ability to empathize in a non-judgmental manner, and complete required paperwork in a timely fashion.
Our programs utilize a Harm Reduction Principles and Housing First model in reaching our mission of "Providing non-judgmental services to end homelessness.” The right candidate would be able to navigate severe mental illness, active substance and alcohol use, understanding the principles of Harm Reduction.
Some key duties of these positions will be:
- Maintaining case notes
- Create support plans and goals based on tenant driven goals
- Navigate the mental health and treatment systems
- Working within a team both within the agency and with outside providers
- Ability to take on-call responsibilities
- Community engagement both with providers and tenants and/or families
- Assistance with maintaining apartment code standards
- Light kitchen duties / preparing and serving meals
- Front desk / administrative duties

This is a full time position with the possibility of occasional weekend/evening/holiday hours. This position requires rotating on-call responsibilities.
