The Josselyn Building Attendant role requires proactive observation skills to maintain a safe and professional workplace for Josselyn employees, visitors, and clients. Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the Building Attendant is responsible for monitoring building systems, including HVAC, security cameras, and general building security support, routine maintenance, and repair activities as directed.
Essential Responsibilities And Metrics
- Monitors overall building systems and reports any issues, including lighting, HVAC, and plumbing
- Monitor building access, including flow of visitors and clients as they enter and exit the building, ensuring security protocols are followed
- Monitor and oversee CCTV cameras and alarm systems
- Report safety hazards, suspicious activity or security concerns/breaches to appropriate internal personnel and authorities as applicable
- Provide assistance and general information to clients and visitors, including assistance for clients and visitors with special needs
- Assist in the implementation of security policies and procedures, including responding to alarms and incidents, ensuring appropriate action is taken
- Coordinate and manage deliveries, including packages and mail, for proper distribution at the Waukegan location
- Handle light maintenance as approved by the Manager of Facilities
- High School Diploma Required
- Bilingual Preferred (Spanish)
- Perform basic building maintenance
- Basic knowledge of security systems and emergency procedures
- Strong observational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to remain calm and composed in emergency and stressful situations
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Minimum of one year experience in behavioral health services
- Work schedule is Tuesday-Thursday 12-9 pm, Friday 9-5 pm and Saturday 9-2 pm
- Will be required to work outdoors and indoors during inclement weather
