As Building Maintenance, you will be responsible for the upkeep and repair of all areas within the resort & hotel premises, including guest rooms, public spaces, indoor and outdoor pools, plumbing systems, electrical systems, HVAC systems, elevators, furniture, appliances, and building structures. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to maintenance tasks to ensure the comfort and safety of our guests, members, and staff.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Conduct routine inspections of facilities to identify maintenance needs and prioritize repairs.
Perform repairs and maintenance tasks in guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry work.
Troubleshoot and repair issues with appliances, including refrigerators, microwaves, and televisions.
Maintain and repair indoor and outdoor pools, including cleaning, chemical balancing, and equipment maintenance.
Inspect and maintain elevators to ensure safe and efficient operation.
Monitor and maintain the facilities' ventilation systems to promote proper air quality and circulation.
Conduct preventive maintenance on building structures, such as roofs, walls, and floors, to prevent deterioration and ensure structural integrity.
Respond promptly to guest and staff requests for maintenance assistance and resolve issues in a timely manner.
Collaborate with other departments, such as Housekeeping and Front Desk, to coordinate maintenance efforts and minimize disruptions to operations.
Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while performing maintenance tasks to prevent accidents and injuries.
SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS
A strong foundation in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry.
Proven experience as a maintenance technician, preferably in a hospitality setting.
Knowledge and experience in saltwater pool maintenance, including cleaning, chemical balancing, and equipment upkeep is a plus.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, specifically the ability to quickly identify issues, diagnose problems, and implement effective solutions.
Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations related to maintenance work.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions closely.
Effective communication skills and ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and some holidays, as needed.
High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training in maintenance or a related field preferred.
Valid driver's license.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Physical fitness and stamina to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
Mobility to move freely around the hotel and access different areas for repairs.
Manual dexterity and proficiency with hand and power tools.
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work schedules.
