Service Advisors work with existing client relationships with supervision from and collaboration with a lead advisor. Typically, this role oversees all aspects of a client relationship from plan development, recommendations, implementation, and ongoing service. This role works with collaboration and support from their planning team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily:
- Responsible for serving as a key point person for assigned client relationships
- Manage client onboarding process in collaboration with service and operations teams
- Work in collaboration with planning team to develop and implement plan recommendations
- Facilitate retention of existing clients by providing outstanding service
- Engage with existing clients to create referral opportunities
- Track client workflows and communications in the firm’s CRM system, proactively provide updates to clients
- Conduct meetings with clients including plan presentations, goal development, and relationship reviews
- Review and track existing financial plans for needed updates, revisions, and outstanding tasks
- Communicate proactively and clearly with teammates and clients on workflow process and progress
- Develop or assist in development of content related to financial planning topics
- Analyze information and prepare relevant reports and presentations
- Assist with training and developing Support Advisors
- Data entry and analysis
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND/OR ABILITIES: To perform this job successfully, individual should have the following skills and abilities:
- Must have a high level of customer service aptitude and anticipate client needs
- Must be self-motivated and able to manage varying project deadlines
- Must demonstrate an ability to work in a fiduciary capacity
- Must have the ability to utilize critical thinking skills, solve problems, work within a team, and anticipate firm needs and client questions
- Must be detail oriented, structured and have a high degree of consistency
- Creative thinking and an intrinsic initiative to learn
- Must be able to learn things quickly and effectively manage changing of priorities
- Strong communication and organizational skills are essential
- Experience in investments, financial planning, or taxes
- Strong financial and analytical skills
- Able to manage multiple tasks and concurrent projects efficiently
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited four-year university, preferably in financial planning, business, finance, economics, etc.
- Superior knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Knowledge or experience in one or more financial planning areas (investments, taxes, retirement, etc.)
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Series 65 and/or CFP designation required within six months
