Job Description: Journey Kids Coordinator
Job Description: This role works closely with the Journey Kids Director to ensure a fun, safe, and spiritually enriching experience for children during weekend services and special events. The ideal candidate loves working with kids, developing volunteers, and implementing engaging curriculum that helps children grow in their faith.
Job Classification: Part-time hourly (non-exempt) (up to 23 hours per week)
Reports to: Journey Kids Director
Key Responsibilities:
Weekend Services & Curriculum Implementation
· Assist in planning and executing engaging weekend services for kids (Nursery - Elementary).
· Oversee curriculum setup, preparation, and distribution for classrooms.
· Ensure materials and supplies are ready for teachers and volunteers.
· Support check-in and check-out processes, ensuring a welcoming and secure environment.
Volunteer Leadership & Support
· Assist in recruiting, training, and equipping volunteers for weekend services.
· Provide encouragement, guidance, and resources to ensure volunteers feel confident and supported.
· Help schedule volunteers and communicate expectations effectively.
Strategic Events & Ministry Growth
· Help plan and execute key children's ministry events (e.g., Summer Jam, Jingle Jam, Baby Dedication)
· Support outreach efforts to engage new families and strengthen connections with existing ones.
· Collaborate with the Kids Ministry Director to implement ministry goals and initiatives.
Spiritual Criteria:
· Profess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior
· Commitment to continued personal spiritual growth and formation
· Model the standards and expectations of leaders within Journey Christian Church
· Must attend Journey Christian Church as church home and align with core beliefs journeychristian.com/our-beliefs
Experience:
· Deep love for Jesus and a clear calling to local church ministry.
· Bachelor's degree (preferred).
· Experience in volunteer management and team leadership.
· Strong organizational and communication skills.
· Proficiency in creating safe and engaging environments for children.
