What are the responsibilities and job description for the Residential Group Home Manager position at Journey of Hope Community Housing LLC?
Journey of Hope Community Housing LLC was formed in 2018 to be a culturally specific, community-based housing solution for youth in Ramsey County.
As the House Manager you will be critical to help us succeed in our mission to provides a safe and encouraging environment for African American adolescents and their families.
Journey of Hope currently has two homes, one in West St Paul and one on the East Side of St Paul. The ideal candidate would manage both locations and shared staff, but this would be dependent on qualifications and experience.
Responsibilities
· Coordinate supervision and training of Support Team Members
· Collaborate with management team to ensure smooth operation of the residence
· Encourage and improve cross-department internal communication
· Plan and facilitate programming activities
· Manage records and information
· Daily monitoring, including medication, program data and communication logs
· Ensure that all state-mandated regulations and company policies are maintained at all times
· Assist with maintaining staff schedules and trainings
· Coordinate weekly meal planning, grocery shopping and meal preparation as directed for each client served
· Coordinate and schedule appropriate leisure activities
· Any additional responsibilities as assigned by Director and Executive Director
Requirements and Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent required, college degree preferred
· Certification as a CNA, PCA, or HHA preferred but not required
· Must be willing to provide compassionate care with dignity and respect
· Significant work experience in a residential care facility is strongly preferred
· Reliable, compassionate, and willing to serve others
· Must be able to pass appropriate background study requirements
· Great communication and interpersonal skills
· Good conversation skills and a friendly demeanor
· Able to maintain organized logs of activities and services provided
· Physically capable of doing work that requires standing, lifting, bending, and pushing
· Patient and calm, especially in difficult situations
