The Nursing Scheduler is responsible for timely, efficient and accurate schedules for the clinical/nursing department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The Nursing Scheduler is responsible for timely, efficient and accurate schedules for the clinical/nursing department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Develops and posts work schedules in a timely manner or accordance with company policy to ensure appropriate staffing needs and requirements are met.
- Builds relationships and trust to be able to make necessary contacts with care team members for open shifts and modifies schedule when required.
- Maintains a current listing of care team member contact numbers for call-in
- Coordinates and obtains approval for any time off requests with the Director of Nursing
- Notifies the Executive Director and Director of Nursing of any potential short or critical staffing levels.
- Manages attendance records, perfect attendance or other attendance related special pay programs the company may provide; and reports any necessary information to HR/Payroll to ensure time records are accurately captured.
- Must obtain approvals and coordinates with Executive Director and Director of Nursing if any necessary agency/contract labor may be when needed to ensure appropriate staffing levels and meet any necessary.
- Collaborates and communicates timely with Human Resources as outlined with the company leave of absences and attendance policy on identified leave of absence needs or situations.
- Must adhere to and uphold company’s confidentiality policy, refrain from gossip and hearsay.
- Maintains and leads by example by upholding the company attendance policy, as attendance is this role is critical to the staffing needs of the facility.
- Performs other tasks as assigned within the scope of practice and ability.
EDUCATION/VOCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- A minimum of a high school education or high school equivalent diploma is preferred.
- This position requires that the care team member can read, write, speak and understand the spoken English language to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our patients and visitors at the work site when responding to their medical and physical needs.
- Must have knowledge of computer use of various scheduling software programs and excel.
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents and their family members, and at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to be accurate, concise and detail oriented.
- Ability to organize and prioritize to meet deadlines.
- Ability to operate a computer.
