What You Will Be Doing
- Assist in planning/coordinating/setting up/inventory preparation/ marketing collateral for business development sponsored major events and sponsored community outreach programs, including financial literacy workshops, volunteer initiatives.
- Provide support of event logistics such as scheduling, communication with vendors, and tracking participation.
- Engage with community organizations, schools, and businesses to strengthen partnerships.
- Collaborate with the credit union teams to create content showcasing the organizations impact.
- Review event content to streamline sharing process with digital team
- Track and report on event outcomes, member engagement, and partnership opportunities by sponsored events and or outreach program..
- Represent and be a “brand ambassador” for the credit union at all sponsored and outreach events, interacting with the public and sharing our mission.
- Perform administrative support tasks related to community outreach and event planning.
- Currently enrolled in a college or university program (Marketing, Communications, Business, Finance, Nonprofit Management, or related field preferred).
- Passionate about community engagement and financial literacy.
- High energy, friendly, outgoing personality, team player!
- Strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable engaging with the public and speaking to groups.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and social media platforms.
- Internet speed of 100 mbps or higher required (you can test this by going to www.speedtest.net).
- Able to dedicate a quiet space for daily work that is free of sound interruptions.
- All equipment will be provided by Jovia (Computer, Monitor, Headset).
- Our Internships are a (10) week program and offer full-time (40 hours/week) or part-time (19 hours/week) paid opportunities . Selected interns start on the first week of June and work up until the first Friday in August .
- The program begins with a welcome orientation; a tour around Jovia’s Headquarters in Westbury; ongoing learning & development opportunities; role-specific training; and exposure to credit union operational departments.
