What you will be doing:
- Responsible for reviewing, clearing, and creating cases on VERAFIN as it relates AML Alerts.
- Analyze and recommend enhancements to the overall fraud/forgery process to minimize risk exposure to the Credit Union and membership.
- Work with operational units to investigate transactions that are suspicious in
- nature.
- Perform back up functions of the Fraud Administrator & BSA Coordinator/ CIP roles.
- Ensure required BSA classes are completed and passed.
- Participate on the SAR committee.
- BSA Software supports (“Verafin”); work with ensuring updates to system or
- tested.
- Work closely with Fraud Team at other financial institution in handling fraudulent cases and adapting best practices.
- Act as a liaison to local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies on matters relating to abusive, fraudulent, illegal, or improper activities.
- Maintain proficient knowledge of the rules and regulations, including but not
- limited to, the BSAAML, OFAC and the USA Patriot Act.
- Provide supporting documentation during investigations of abusive, fraudulent, illegal, or improper activities leading to the identification, arrest, and conviction of suspects and recovery or restitution of respective losses.
What we need from you:
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year College or university.
- Three years or more AML/BSA related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- PC literacy is required, including Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills reflecting a positive attitude are critical to success in this position.
- A confident professional, who is detail oriented with the ability to multitask and work autonomously and/or with a team as required.
- Willing to work flexible hours when required, exhibit a cooperative spirit, willingness to work as part of a team, and a commitment to member service.
Work From Home and Hybrid Requirements: This particular position is Hybrid and requires in-office / plus work from home days to our offices in Westbury, New York:
- Internet speed of 100 mbps or higher required (you can test this by going to www.speedtest.net).
- Able to dedicate a quiet space for daily work that is free of sound interruptions.
- All equipment will be provided by Jovia (Computer, Monitor, Headset)
