About the role:
We seek an architect with 10-15 years' experience, excited about working in a supportive environment, and who values thoughtful collaboration in pursuit of Architecture for the Common Good. Our ideal candidate would have strong design, technical, and project management skills, including consultant coordination and construction administration experience.
We are looking for a qualified candidate who is ready to lead a variety of multi-family and mixed-use projects within our open and collaborative office. A desire to learn from and mentor others is a must. A positive, can-do attitude and a great sense of humor will help you succeed.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Coordinates project design, develops planning and creative-design concepts for a wide variety of projects.
- Understands building construction, develops details, and provides technical support in the preparation of design development and construction documents; experience with construction administration; coordinates the work of consultants.
- Mentor and manage staff.
- Strong understanding of contracts, coordinates with Principal(s) to create project fee proposals and contracts including determining scope of work, estimating staff hours, coordinating consultant fees, and schedule.
- Serves as the primary client liaison to bring the schedule, budgets, and scope of work to completion and to the client’s satisfaction.
- Actively manages client budgets, schedules, and programs; project communications and documentation.
- Demonstrates creativity, foresight, and professional judgment in solving architectural issues
Qualifications:
- NAAB Accredited Architecture Degree (B.Arch or M.Arch) preferred.
- Licensure is preferred.
- 10-15 years of experience in professional architectural office environments.
- Familiarity with building codes, specifications, building and engineering systems.
- Versatile computer skills: Revit and AutoCAD experience preferred.
- Excellent organizational and communications skills.
Compensation:
Compensation will be commensurate with experience.

Location:
The office is located in Boston’s South End neighborhood. Most staff work in the office, and a hybrid work schedule is an option after 90 days of employment.

Full time, 40 hours per week
