Demolition Estimator – Heavy Civil Construction

Job Summary: As our in-house specialist, the Demolition Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for all demolition projects as well as the demolition scope of larger projects. This role requires a thorough understanding of demolition processes, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for demolition projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to identify potential cost factors.
- Conduct site visits to assess project scope and conditions.
- Develop comprehensive project scopes and schedules.
- Solicit and review bids from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Analyze and evaluate bid proposals to ensure competitiveness and compliance with project requirements.
- Collaborate with other team members to develop accurate and comprehensive estimates.
- Assist in the preparation of bid proposals and related documentation.
- Maintain and update estimating databases and historical cost records.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and post-bid reviews as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the Estimating Department.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in estimating, with a focus on demolition projects.
- Proficiency in HCSS Heavy Bid and Bluebeam software is required.
- Ability to utilize the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is required.
- Knowledge of demolition methods, materials, and industry standards is essential.
- Full comprehension of demolition requirements to work in the greater Philadelphia region.
