Responsibilities
- Coordinate and oversee all aspects of funeral services, including planning, logistics, and execution.
- Provide bereavement support to families, helping them navigate the emotional challenges associated with loss.
- Prepare deceased individuals for viewing and burial, which may include embalming, cosmetology, and dressing.
- Conduct meetings with families to discuss arrangements and provide guidance on available options.
- Manage the sales process for funeral packages and merchandise while ensuring transparency and sensitivity.
- Organize memorial events and ceremonies in accordance with the family's wishes.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to services provided.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements in the funeral service industry.
- Assist with heavy lifting as needed during preparation and transportation of remains.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of physiology and anatomy is essential for understanding the needs of the deceased.
- Previous experience in funeral directing or a related field is preferred.
- Strong customer service skills with an ability to empathize with grieving families.
- Experience in event planning to create meaningful memorial services.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required during services.
- Sales experience is beneficial for managing merchandise offerings effectively.
- Familiarity with bereavement support practices to assist families emotionally during their time of loss.
- Cosmetology skills are a plus for preparing individuals for viewings.
