Job Description
Description: The Occupational Therapist evaluates and executes Occupational Therapy plan of care for patients in order to prevent illness and disability and restore function following and injury or illness.
Typical Duties
- Helps patients reach their maximum functional levels by utilizing techniques to improve physical health, prevocational skills, homemaking skills, activities of daily living, educational, recreational, and social activities.
- Addresses associated sensorimotor, cognitive and psychosocial components.
- Designs and constructs splints and adaptive equipment and devices as necessary.
- Documents patient care and charges.
- Provides leadership and direction for support staff and Occupational Therapy students.
- Participates in professional development and continuing education to ensure compliance with licensure laws.
- Performs related tasks as needed to insure effective delivery of Occupational Therapy Services.
- Performs other related JOB duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Science degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited University.
- 1 plus years’ experience as an Occupational Therapist.
- Current licensure by Texas Board of Physical and Occupational Therapy Examiners.
