Job Description:
Job Summary: The Pharmacy Informatics Specialist acts as a liaison between the pharmacy operational team and Information Technology teams to ensure optimal build of configurations, workflow adoptions and data analytic accuracies. This role is responsible for the analysis of users’ needs and makes recommendations for workflow design as well as software changes. They are able to oversee pharmacy and 340B related data management, analyses, dashboard and reporting from various systems and technologies deployed at the district. The Pharmacy Informatics Specialist maintains an end-user and patient-centric focus while assisting with the development and deployment of the district’s EHR and pharmacy technology systems as defined by the organization’s senior leadership.
Essential Job Functions & Accountabilities:
Assists with the analysis and documentation of current/future state.
Collaborates with Information Technology and pharmacy operational team in the planning, design, development, implementation, support and ongoing optimization of pharmacy information systems and technologies as relevant to standardized best practice workflow processes and clinical content to ensure alignment across the district.
Collaborates with business, clinical, programmatic, research and technology leadership to support strategic goals and objectives as well as other analysis and reporting requirement needs.
Rounds with operational end-users to identify trends and issues and workflow efficiencies. Collaborates with appropriate teams to formulate corrective actions as needed. Assists with end-user pharmacy system education and support with all upgrades, new releases and enhanced functionality.
Participates in facility and clinical committees and/or projects as a pharmacy informatics expert.
Solves or escalates operational problems and technical issues to operational and ITS team members and management.
Ensures the accuracy of pharmacy and 340B data. Ensures accurate and ad hoc reporting needs to support the district.
Participates as assigned in certification/recertification, data reporting, audits, contract pharmacy relationships, etc. to include data governance and data integrity activities.
Perform responsibilities for pharmacy modules or systems as appropriate.

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in pharmacy from an accredited college or university.
- Registered Pharmacist in the State of Texas (must maintain throughout employment).
- 4 plus years of experience working in a pharmacy setting.
- 2 plus years of experience working in pharmacy informatics.
- 2 plus years of experience working with Epic.
- Epic certification/accreditation/proficiency in associated modules (must be obtained within 120 days of hire and maintained throughout employment).
- Doctorate of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) or equivalent from an accredited College of Pharmacy.
- Experience working clinical inpatient and/or retail pharmacy.
- Experience working in project management.
- 340B Certification.
