What are the responsibilities and job description for the Applications Engineering Manager position at JR Automation?
What You’ll Do:
- Direct supervision of Application Engineering staff.
- Develop standards and learning paths for department leadership.
- Annual performance reviews.
- Generate and manage Business Unit strategy for achieving yearly financial metrics.
- Qualify incoming opportunities to ensure alignment with forecast and financial metrics.
- Manage sales funnel for Business Unit.
- Continuously improve company-wide processes and team member performance.
- Interview, hire and develop employees.
- Support Account Managers by attending customer visits for key accounts.
- Support Application Engineers and functional teams to solve problems with no previous or standard solution.
- Develop internal win strategy and execution, understanding customer pain points, coordinate AE team members as it relates to a quote package, and facilitate quote package development towards a winning quote package.
- Review quote packages prior to submission to ensure high quality business is won.
- Ensure department is adhering to company best practices and procedures.
- Maintain AE related fields in company CRM.

What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related business or engineering field.
- Five years of industry experience leading successful highly motivated teams.
- Expert in all Applications Engineering processes and tools.
- Knowledge of the Process Industries (Film, Fiber, Nonwovens, Paper, Carbon Fiber and/or Composites) strongly preferred.
- Technical Background or experience.
- Project Management experience is a plus.
- Strong communication and organization skills.
- Contract knowledge.
- Solid presentation skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
