Our client is a leading manufacturing company and are seeking a Quality Manager.
Job Summary
The Quality Manager will oversee and manage all aspects of quality assurance and control within our aerospace manufacturing operations. This role is crucial in ensuring that our products comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications. The Quality Manager will lead a team of quality professionals, implement robust quality management systems, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and operational efficiency
Essential Responsibilities
- Quality Management System (QMS): Maintain the company's Quality Management System in accordance with industry standards (AS9100, ISO 9001). Works with production, engineering and sales departments to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and customer specifications.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of quality inspectors. Provide guidance, training, and support to ensure effective performance and professional development.
- Quality Assurance: Oversee quality assurance processes including inspection, testing, and validation of materials and finished products. Ensure that all products meet required specifications and standards before delivery.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and lead initiatives to enhance product quality, reduce defects, and increase operational efficiency. Utilize industry standard methodologies to drive continuous improvement.
- Customer Interaction: Serve as the primary point of contact for quality-related issues with customers. Address and resolve any quality concerns or complaints in a timely and effective manner.
- Works with Production Manager, Engineering Manager and Machine Operators to ensure manufacture of parts meeting all technical and quality requirements.
- Supplier Interaction: Communicate with suppliers any non-conforming issues following through with Root Cause / Corrective Actions as needed. Work in parallel with Sales, Engineering, Production and Suppliers to help solve any processing related issues.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive quality records and documentation. Prepare and present quality performance reports to senior management, highlighting key metrics, trends, and areas for improvement.
- Audits and Inspections: Manage and conduct internal and external audits. Ensure that corrective and preventive actions are implemented and monitored effectively.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay current with industry regulations, standards, and best practices. Ensure that all products and processes adhere to applicable aerospace industry regulations and safety standards.
- NIST 800-171 and CMMC: Work closely with Management during upcoming development and implementation of NIST 800-171 and CMMC maturity plan. Report progress to customers as required.
- Responsible to oversee the gage and calibration system and third-party calibration services.
- Lead root cause analysis investigations in collaboration with Engineering and Production Managers.
- Plans, Creates and orchestrates quality departments schedule in collaboration with Sales and Production departments in order to satisfy internal and customer requirements.
- Works with Production Department to maintain production quality performance.
- Manage and ensure appropriate staffing level of the quality department with the HR/Office Manager.
- Responsible for, manages and takes part in contract review process.
- Will work alongside team to inspect parts.
- Will spend time on production floor and will work with Production Manager to insure in process quality inspections.
- Will know how to find and interpret hidden specifications during contract review.
- All other assignments as required to meet business needs.
Salary : $80,000 - $110,000
