Worker's Compensation Paralegal
Primary Responsibilities
- Responding to discovery requests, including drafting objections and creating privilege logs
- Drafting outgoing supplemental discovery requests and tracking responses
- Creating and updating timelines/chronologies from medical record
- Requesting medical records and tracking response
- Drafting correspondence to clients and opposing parties
- E-filing documents through the portal, including Petitions for Benefit
- Preparing and editing โmergeโ forms from case management software, including motion
- Calculating the average weekly wage from wage record
- Compiling and preparing exhibit lists for trial
Skills Required
- Must have working knowledge of Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Outlook) and PDF editing software (e.g., Adobe Acrobat, Kofax)
- Must have working knowledge of 60Q rules of procedure for workers' compensation claims and Florida Rules of Civil Procedure related to discovery
- Must have experience tracking billable hours contemporaneously with work performed
- Must be well organized and self-motivated
- Must be able to multitask and prioritize in accordance with changing deadlines and priorities
- Must be able to work in a team environment
- Should have experience with Client Profiles/ATO practice management software
Salary : $60,000 - $80,000
