Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Worker’s Compensation Discovery Paralegal to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience handling discovery processes in worker’s compensation cases, including gathering, reviewing, and organizing relevant documents, responding to discovery requests, and assisting attorneys in case preparation. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced legal environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in all aspects of the discovery process for worker’s compensation cases.
- Draft and respond to discovery requests, including interrogatories, requests for production, and subpoenas.
- Collect, organize, and summarize medical records, employment records, and other relevant documents.
- Coordinate with clients, medical providers, and experts to obtain necessary case information.
- Prepare deposition summaries and assist in deposition preparation.
- Conduct legal research and case investigations as needed.
- Maintain case files and ensure all discovery deadlines are met.
- Assist in trial and hearing preparation, including preparing exhibits and witness lists.
- Draft correspondence and other legal documents under attorney supervision.
- Communicate with opposing counsel, court personnel, and insurance representatives as needed.
- Experience: Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in worker’s compensation or personal injury law.
- Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies or a related field; paralegal certification preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of discovery procedures in worker’s compensation cases.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in legal research and case management software.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Salary : $60,000 - $75,000
