PRODUCTION SUPPORT TECHNICIAN
JOB SUMMARY: Works within the Production Engineering group to perform a variety of production support needs. This includes creating and maintaining production drawings, cut sheets, CAM programming and other documentation. Contribute to continuous improvement efforts and focus on improving safety, improving quality, and reducing cost.
DUTIES:
- Cross train with all members of the Production Support Engineering team to ensure timely manufacturing of products to customer specifications with a focus on Drafting and CAM programming
- Work closely with Designers to ensure production drawings reflect customer critical requirements
- Provide complete, detailed, and accurate drawings for manufacturing operations.
- Prepare production information (i.e. drawings, cut lists, BOM, routing) that provides the necessary information for programming, machining and assembly operations.
- Maintain a library of standard designs, drawings, and specifications.
- Work directly with shop floor personnel on issues and manufacturing concerns, ensuring continuous product and process improvements.
- Incorporate postproduction updates of first article builds.
- Process Engineering Change Requests (ECRs)
- Assess products and make appropriate changes to maximize Design-for-Manufacturability.
- Interface with Designers to give feedback from Production that will enhance future designs.
- Improve how the Production Drafting work is done to eliminate waste and improve the quality of the documentation.
REQUIREMENTS:
- The Ideal candidate will have good organizational skills, the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, excellent verbal and written communication skills and experience in problem solving in a team environment.
- Ability to learn SolidWorks drafting, Microsoft Excel, CAM programming and MRP/ERP systems.
- Background in millwork and cabinet design and construction.
PREFERRED:
- An Associate or bachelor’s degree in CAD or equivalent work experience.
- Prior experience with CAM programming software and wood-based machining.
- Prior working experience on a millwork shop floor and/or working knowledge of how to manufacture millwork.

- Reports directly to Plant-Level Engineering Supervisor

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
