Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Night Auditor to join our team at the [Hotel Name] Marriott. As the Night Auditor, you will be responsible for performing front desk and accounting duties during the night shift. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting, customer service, and hotel operations to ensure a seamless transition between shifts while delivering an exceptional guest experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guest Service: Provide exceptional customer service to guests during the night shift, including check-ins, check-outs, and handling guest inquiries or concerns. Ensure guests have a smooth, comfortable stay.
- Night Audit: Perform end-of-day accounting procedures, including posting charges to guest accounts, reconciling transactions, and balancing daily revenue reports. Ensure all financial transactions are accurate and complete.
- Front Desk Operations: Handle guest reservations, process payments, and address any issues or special requests. Ensure all guest records are updated and maintained according to hotel standards.
- Guest Communications: Handle phone calls, respond to email inquiries, and assist with guest services as needed. Address any guest complaints or concerns and escalate to management when appropriate.
- Security and Safety: Monitor hotel security during the night shift, ensuring the safety of guests, employees, and hotel property. Report any incidents or unusual activity to the appropriate personnel.
- Reports & Documentation: Prepare and submit various reports related to guest transactions, occupancy, and other night audit procedures. Ensure that all necessary paperwork is filed and organized for the morning shift.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the day staff to ensure a smooth transition and communicate any important updates or issues from the night shift.
- General Administrative Tasks: Perform general clerical duties such as filing, organizing documents, and assisting with any other administrative needs.
Qualifications:
- Previous hotel front desk or night audit experience is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial transactions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer service-oriented approach.
- Basic knowledge of accounting procedures and hotel management systems.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle difficult situations with professionalism.
- Ability to work overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Familiarity with Marriott’s property management system (PMS) or similar software is a plus.
