JSM & Associates, a growing company headquartered in Central Florida, is seeking a seeking a professional, skilled individual to join our team at the Orlando International Airport (MCO) as a Controls Program Technician!
The Controls Program Technician role is to ensure control systems operate efficiently utilizing the expanses of Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programming. This is a hands-on position tasked with maintaining and enhancing the controls for, and operations of, the Baggage Handling System (BHS) at the airport.

Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative maintenance on PLC systems.
- Program or perform repairs on PLC systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance or repairs on more advanced BHS equipment as needed.
- Perform breakdown analysis.
- Oversee or perform general housekeeping.
- Upgrade lines with new/upgraded equipment/technology.
- Assist activities of outside contractors working on assigned line.
- Enforce safety.
- Work independently under limited supervision.
- Develop PLC basics training for mechanics working on the BHS and assist in implementing training program.
- Review controls documentation and installation plans.
- Safety and compliance training as required.
- Perform other reasonable ancillary duties to support the operation and our customer.
Qualifications:
- High School Graduate or General Educational Development (GED).
- Bachelor's Degree preferred*
- Job experience, professional development and continuing education may be substituted for educational experience
- Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of individuals, including executives, managers, developers, and subject matter experts.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to write reports and business correspondence.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Possess the versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work with constantly changing priorities.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams.
- 3( ) years of experience in Controls preferred
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Must be able to undergo a 10-year background check and be able to obtain/maintain security clearance.
- Must possess a valid drivers' license (with a clean driving record)
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to sit, send, push/pull, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach or crawl occasionally.
- Must be able to lift up-to 50 pounds.
- Regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts
- Occasionally exposed to hot, cold, wet, or humid conditions
Additional Requirements:
The employee must be able to successfully pass a drug screening, a drivers’ license check and validation, a ten (10) year Criminal History Records Check (CHRC), federal fingerprinting and security threat assessment as well as airport security badging.
Continued employment is subject to all the above requirements on an ongoing basis, failure of passing any of the above requirements may result in immediate termination.
