Specialty Metals Estimator
Summary of Responsibilities
The Steel Fabrication Estimator is a critical position within JSR, Inc. Estimators are responsible for evaluating bid specifications and drawings, ensuring that everything is required to successfully quote in winning the project. Determining scope of work and matching company's capabilities. Specialties Project types consist of carbon steel, aluminum and stainless-steel materials with special finishes.
Duties : Work with Division Manager on estimating and proposal preparation on small to large projects. Candidate must be proficient in Word, Excel. AutoCAD, WinEst experience is a big plus. Experience with Structural Material Manager also a Plus. Candidate must be able to interpret construction documents, Arch. & Structural Drawings, and Specifications. Good Communication skills and being able to multitask several estimating projects are essential. Will review projects awarded with JSR team members as required on award handoff meetings with Supervision Project Managers, Engineering Dept, as required on projects.
- Project Knowledge
- Experienced 5 years or more in estimating and project management on Miscellaneous and Structural Steel type projects in the retail, commercial, and industrial projects.
o Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and must be able to effectively communicate with customers, internal staff, and field personnel.
o Ability to navigate and monitor plan-rooms on project notices, Plans, Specifications, Addendums, etc.
o Attend project meetings and / or visit job sites as needed; field verification may also be required.
