Description
SUMMARY:
Primary responsibility is for the timely procurement of raw materials and supplies of required
quality, and at the best price advantage to the company. Establishing supply sources meet with
supplier representatives; negotiate purchases as to price, specifications, terms and delivery.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Generates and maintains PO’s for outsourced vendors, and when necessary, miscellaneous
PO’s throughout the factory. This includes working with Accounting, QC and Warehouse to
resolve PO’s matching, billing and credit issues.
2. Generates/maintains information used to report or analyze purchase data, component
inventory, and other various month end reports for Production Control
3. Solicits quotes for material and researches new vendors, as requested by production or
engineering personnel (including any of the engineering depts. in the US)
4. Maintains approved vendors list (contains vendor information such as contact name/number
and other pertinent information).
5. Visits vendors as required, and supports QA in vendor approval process
6. Issue written and oral instructions.
7. Any other duties as needed.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
1. High School diploma or equivalent.
2. College level course work, preferably in Material Management curriculum
3. Must have good language skills. Must be able to issue both written and oral instructions and
to effectively convey ideas on improving workflow and efficiency of departments.
4. Good mathematical are essential.
5. Must have an understanding of scheduling techniques in a manufacturing environment.
6. Must have an understanding of Material Requirement planning (a computerized material
control program).
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
1. A certificate in Material Management is helpful, but not required.
2. APICS certification helpful, but not required.

2. Must be able to react quickly to changes in requirements.
3. Teamwork is an essential characteristic, as all production departments’ activities must be
effectively coordinated to ensure meeting all customer requirements.
Salary : $15 - $16
