Dealership Administrative Accounting Controller
Overview: JT Auto Group is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Dealership Administrative Accounting Controller to oversee the financial operations and accounting functions of our dealership. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial reporting, maintaining accuracy in financial records, and ensuring compliance with accounting procedures and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Management: Manage the dealership's financial activities, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support decision-making processes.
- Accounting Oversight: Supervise and execute accounting processes, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, general ledger, and reconciliations.
- Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with all accounting standards, tax regulations, and dealership policies. Prepare and present accurate financial reports, statements, and forecasts.
- Team Management: Lead and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance, training, and support to maintain high standards of accuracy and efficiency.
- Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve accounting processes, procedures, and internal controls to streamline operations and enhance accuracy.
- Audit and Tax Preparation: Coordinate and oversee external audits and tax filings, collaborating with auditors and tax professionals as necessary.
- Inventory Control: Monitor and reconcile vehicle inventory, ensuring accuracy in inventory records and compliance with dealership inventory procedures.
- Relationship Management: Collaborate with internal departments, vendors, financial institutions, and stakeholders to facilitate efficient financial operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification is a plus.
- A few years of progressive experience in automotive dealership accounting or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax regulations within the automotive industry.
- Proficiency in dealership management software (DMS) and accounting software (e.g., CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds).
- Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.
- Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to process improvement.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
