Description
1 REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
Reports to the Director of Human Resources/Safety/Training.
2 PURPOSE
2.1 Function
2.1.1 To provide specific support to the Human Resources Director;
2.1.2 Responsible for providing a variety of human resources services
for the organization as a whole;
2.1.3 Coordinates all employee services, employee relations, and health promotion activities;
2.1.4 Coordinates salary and benefit administration;
2.2 Authority
2.2.1 Point person for Human Resources function within the
organization;
2.2.2 Works with Human Resources Director to identify
needed resources to achieve organization goals;
2.2.3 Manages and supervises the Human Resources Assistants and
Human Resources Generalists.
3 Duties And Responsibilities
3.1 Directly implements human resources policies, programs, and practices;
3.2 Supports the Director of Human Resources in areas of payroll, benefits, affirmative action, salary administration, public relations, plant tours, monthly reports, preparation of disciplinary actions, and plant communications;
3.3 Advises and makes recommendations to senior management regarding human resources challenges. Coordinates the resolution of specific policy and procedural related problem;
3.4 May conduct group meetings and individual conferences to facilitate implementation of human resources programs.
3.5 Interview hourly and salary job applicants, review applications and resumes, evaluate skills, and make recommendations regarding applicant qualifications;
3.6 Creates, maintains, and conducts new hire orientation presentations and documentation;
3.7 Completes I-9 Forms, verifies I-9 documentation, and maintains I-9 files.
3.8 Submits online investigation requests and assists with new employee background checks.
3.9 Prepares and maintains company salary structure and completes salary surveys.
3.10 Manages and tracks LOA-related documents, attendance, and procedures
3.11 Maintains and tracks Unemployment Insurance documentation and resolutions
3.12 Assists in and/or conducts employee disciplinary and termination conferences;
3.13 Assists in and/or conducts harassment or discrimination investigations;
3.14 Recommends and develops human resources databases, computer
software, and manual filing systems;
3.15 Develops and recommends policy and procedural improvements;
3.16 Runs statistical summaries and reports, and prepares the monthly
rationalization.
3.17 All other duties of Human Resources Business Partner as assigned.

5 SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITY
This position supervises the Human Resources Assistants and Human Resources Generalists. This position provides training, guidance, and disciplinary action to the Human Resources Assistant and Human Resources Coordinator.
6 WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard
office equipment.
7 Qualifications
7.1 High school diploma or equivalent.
7.2 Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Management, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or related field;
7.3 Excellent organizational and communication skills;
7.4 Ability to interview and select qualified candidates;
7.5 Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite;
7.6 Knowledge of FMLA, ADA, and EEO policies and procedures;
7.7 Developed leader and trainer;
7.8 Team player and model employee.
8 PHYSICAL DEMANDS
8.1 The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
8.2 While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to type, file or lift office supplies up to 20 pounds. While performing the responsibilities of the employee’s job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to stand, sit and use their hands and fingers to handle or feel and to manipulate keys on a keyboard. The employee is occasionally required to stand, talk and hear, to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
9 POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This position regularly requires extended hours and possible weekend work.
10 TRAVEL
Travel to JCSNA worksites are required regularly. Travel is required to the Bronson Michigan facility at a minimum of six weeks per year.
