Job Description
Summary/Purpose
The purpose of this position is to support Morristown location's Automotive & Driveline Business (ASBU) plant accounting and finance function, to assist with analytical support for business unit, and to assist with business plan preparation and analysis
Essential Duties and Accountabilities:
• Ensure Morristown manufacturing plant complies accounting policies and procedures
• Support finance team with month end and business plan analysis
• Prepare weekly flash report
• Prepare and post journal entries and prepare monthly account reconciliations
• Prepare monthly and year-to-date sales analysis
• Learn plant accounting processes with the intent of covering for or replacing a plant controller in the future
• Coordinate yearly standard cost development/roll between plants and IT
• Coordinate and assist with semi-annual plant physical inventory and annual fixed asset inventory
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but may require active participation and / or leadership of cross functional project teams
Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills required
• Solid communication skills
• Prior experience in a manufacturing company strongly preferred with knowledge of standard costing practices and inventory controls
• Experience with fully integrated ERP systems is required; prior experience with Oracle systems is preferred
• Ethical and honest behavior
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s in accounting / finance required
• CPA/CMA preferred but not required
• 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment
