Summary/Purpose
Follow Standard Operating Procedure and Work Instructions. Perform work in a systematic manner when possible to insure all steps are carried out in proper sequence. Adhere to Standard Work.
Essential Duties and Accountabilities:
Heat Treat Lab
Check Surface Hardness & Core Hardness Using Rockwell Hardness Tester
Prepare Mounts Using Cutoff Saw, Mounting Press & Polisher.
Check Case Depth Using Micro Vickers
Daily Calibration of Rockwell Hardness Testers & Micro Vickers
Mixing acid & methanol while wearing the proper PPE to make Nital Etch
Check Microstructure Using Microscope for Judging structure to JTEKT Standard
Knowledge of gauges used to perform receiving inspection of incoming material.
Complete knowledge of the quality approval system.
Weekly Scrap reports
Lab Techs are responsible for all 5-S and daily housekeeping duties. Perform preventive maintenance on lab equipment as required.
Updating Monthly Accumulation Log
Interface with Excel Spreadsheet to create Trend Charts & Furnace Loading Schedule to verify Quality checks are done to schedule. If quality issues arise consult with, Quality C-Tech, or with Quality Supervisor (Stop, Call and Wait)
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Education and Experience:
High School diploma or general education degree (GED); Some Quality background preferred, also good at Math is a plus
